Classes will be 90 minutes each.
Over the course of writing this book, I have come to understand trauma to be an emotional response to an experience that makes one feel threatened, afraid, and powerless. In addition, there’s no set threshold of what is considered “bad enough” to cause trauma. These experieces can range in events such as witnessing death, brush with death, abuse, car accident, hurricane, fire, or witnessing abuse. These experienves can be complex or ongoing and repeated over time.
Over time trauma challenge my whole being, self-esteem, self-confidence, and how I saw the world and the people in it. This caused a ripple effect of disruptions in all areas of my life., including my physical health and my relationships.
Later in life, I realized that I did not want to live like that nor did I want to pass this egregious act on to my son. Therefore, I began my profound journey of trauma recovery. Yes, there were obstacles, detours, and delays, along with setbacks and lost ground but I did not give up and nor do I want you to give up!
There's no official roadmap to overcome trauma, however we will discuss the 7 that lead me to seek theraphy along this path:
1) Recovery happens in stages
2) Healing is not a competitive sport
3) Recovery involves transparency and honesty
4) You can be resistent to selfcare
5) Post traumatic growth is very possible
6) Theraphy is a path to healing
7) Your journey has a purpose
Sessions will be 90 minutes and open to those that have already purchased the book on line. Purchase book by June 12th.
